Formed in 2019, EmpowHer is comprised of local tradeswomen and apprentices, union leaders and women in the construction industry. Their mission is to enforce positive change through normalizing women in construction careers, supporting those already in the industry and recruiting more women into construction.

EmpowHer seeks to double the number of women apprentices in Wisconsin by 2024, from 3 to 6%. Their industry-wide goal is to increase (double) the percentage of women in construction at all levels and roles by 2028. Mentorship, Lean-in-Circles and working alongside trade specific women’s groups will help with industry retention and increase recruitment opportunities with more women available to spread EmpowHer’s message in the community.

EmpowHer will be promoting construction career paths for high school girls at Building Advantage’s upcoming November career fair.
