“Labor Day marks the end of summer and a time to celebrate union participation and the achievements of America’s workforce.
During Labor Day and beyond, Building Advantage celebrates the accomplishments of the union construction workforce. This year, Southeast Wisconsin’s building and construction trades have worked on some of the most exciting projects in the area like the Wisconsin Center, the Couture, and countless other projects. Thank you to all of the hardworking men and women continuing to build up our city!
It wouldn’t be Labor Day without touching on the importance of labor unions. Unfortunately, safe working conditions and fair wages and benefits are not guaranteed. Labor unions are crucial for workers to have a voice and labor activists are fighting for fair conditions and equity in the workplace across America. A recent poll has found that 71% of Americans support labor unions, the highest approval rating since 1965. From Colectivo Coffee to Apple, workers are seeing the importance of unionization.” – Chris Mambu Rasch, Executive Director at Building Advantage
